In the game of slots, the goal is to get three matching symbols in a row when the wheel comes to a stop. Start the game by putting a token or money in the machine. Then, push the button or pull the lever to get the reels spinning around. If three of the same symbol are lined up when the reels stop, you win the game.
Certain types of slot machines will pay out even if you end up with less than three of a kind. Since payouts can be different from machine to machine, always make sure you read the payout schedule.
The odds of winning can be increased when there are multiple pay lines, meaning players can play with more than one coin and place bets on multiple rows. Since at least one of the rows will likely have a match, this technique increases ups the odds for the player.
Video Poker
To start the game of video poker, insert coins in the machine and place a wager. After this, cards can be drawn by pushing the button marked "Draw/Deal." Keep in mind that the cards do not commonly appear in order on the screen.
Then, you must choose which cards you want to keep and press the "Hold/Cancel button. If you change your decision on which cards to hold, just press the "Hold/Cancel" button again to cancel your choice. To verify your decision, the screen will flash "hold" under held cards.
By pressing "Draw/Deal" again, you will be dealt new cards to replace the ones discarded. If you have a winning combination, you will get a payout and the game will start over again. After the game is over, the video poker machine will let you know of any hands or potential hands that could have been played.
