There are a few things to keep in mind when it's your turn to throw the dice. To discourage cheating the casinos require the shooter to: handle the dice with only one hand, to keep the dice over the table at all times and when the dice are thrown to be sure to throw them off the wall at the other end of the table.
The basic idea in Craps is to: throw a 7 or 11 (to win), avoid throwing 2, 3 or 12 (a loss) or to establish a "point" number to shoot against (throwing the point number before throwing a 7 wins).
The first time the shooter throws (his/her come out roll) and he/she throws a point number (4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10) the Point is established. The dealer will move a white disc to the point number to indicate that the point has been established, what it is and that any further rolls will be Point rolls.
The second time the shooter throws and he/she throws a point number (4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10) the Point for the Come bet is established. The Come Point is separate from the Point (it can be any point number; it may be the same as the Point number or another number). As soon as the Point is established for the Come bet the dealer will move your chips from the Come section of the table to your Point number.
The shooter rolls until such times as he/she throws the Point or the Come Point and wins, or the shooter throw]s a 7 and loses.
The shooter retains the right to throw the dice until he/she loses, or until they decide they no longer want to. The dice are then offered to the next player clockwise around the table.
